Mission "INDRADHANUSH 3.O" : one vaccine, seven benefits

 When everyone was waiting for covid vaccine, Union health minister Dr. HARSHVARDHAN launched, "Intensified mission indradhanush 3.O" (IMI) on February 19, 2021. This mission is nothing but another campaign for the vaccination for people which cures 7 disease at a same time.

One dose, 7 benefits: 

As stated by MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE, there are 7 benefits of this vaccine as given below :

1.Polio

2.Tetanus

3.Measles

4.pertussis

5.Tuberculosis

6.Diptheria

7.Hepatitis B

This vaccine cures 7 disease at the same time. Similarly, there are 7 colours in a rainbow. That's why this mission is known as "mission rainbow/ indradhanush (🌈) . 

Along with the portal ministry released the guidelines for INDRADHANUSH 3.O and the awareness material as part of the campaign. 

What is INDRADHANUSH 3.O ???? 

Indradhanush 3.0 is the scheme launched By Government of India to strengthen and to Re-energize the programme and to achieve full immunisation coverage time for all children and pregnant women at a rapid pace. 

In simple words, INDRADHANUSH 3.O is the scheme launched by Government of India For all children and pregnant women who missed the Routine immunisation due to covid-19. 

Why in news?? Or we can say is what brought this mission in limelight?? various states and union territories has started  implementation of intensified mission indradhanush 3.0. The campaign is scheduled to have two rounds of immunization which will last for 15 days. 

First round : From 22 february, 2021

Second round : from 22 march, 2021

This mission is being conducted in 250 districts across 29 states/union territories

(History of INDRADHANUSH 3.O) 

This scheme is the 3rd part of "intensified mission indradhanush) 

Before this, 2 other branch got launched. 

1.Mission indradhanush : part 1(mission 1.O) 

Mission indradhanush is a Health mission of the government of India. 

In 2014, It was launched by the then health Minister J. P NADDA on Dec 25, 2014.

Similarly, The aim of the mission was to cover those who left due to some reasons by immunisation of any type of vaccines. 

2.Mission indradhanush 2.O

Intensified mission indradhanush 2.O was launched by prime minister Narendra Modi On October 8, 2017. 

Aim of this scheme : 

Aim of this scheme is inoculation of vaccines to those who wasn't present at the right time through providing the people another chance.
